Another week and another game to play. It was great to see 4 players taking on their first ever league match for the club giving us a squad of 14, which is always nice early in the season when we are still building up match fitness.

Dart had a penalty corner goal disallowed for not hitting the backboard early on. We kept our heads and took the lead, with a great strike from Sophie. Dart equalised ahead of half time; the score reflected the evenly matched teams, despite a few entertaining ‘plays’ from some of our longer standing team members (it is early in the season, we are still warming up!).

The second half was more challenging; we continued to play well but Dart switched it up and were very well drilled, scoring a further 4 goals despite the awesome efforts of our defence who worked so hard and certainly earned their post-match teas. Dawlish were not without their chances; after a glorious run from Sophie, debutante Miriam nearly secured a second goal for us.

Sadly, it was not meant to be this week; despite the disappointment of the final score line there is lots to be positive about, and we shall continue to train hard to ensure we come out on top when we play Dart 1 again after Christmas.
